WELCOME TO VISION FAIR FOUNDATION |
Vision Fair Foundation (VFF) is an affiliate of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. ®, Tau Alpha Omega Chapter, located in Redford, Michigan. VFF was established by seven women of the Metropolitan Detroit Community and was originally incorporated as a nonprofit 501(c)(3) in 1995 under the name “Charitable Fund.” In 2000, the name “Charitable Fund” was officially changed to the VFF. Since 1995, VFF has awarded nearly $200,000 in college scholarships and provided community service programs to address issues of at-risk families throughout the city of Redford and the Metropolitan Detroit area. VFF supports the United Nations Association of the United States of America (UNA-USA), Detroit chapter; three of our members currently sit on the board of directors. VFF proudly continues a 12-year relationship with Angel Tree ® Prison Fellowship International, hosting annual Christmas gatherings that provide gifts to nearly 100 children annually. In 2015, VFF also won a $25,000 State Farm Grant to revitalize Ashcroft Park in the city of Redford Township. The State Farm grant allowed VFF to provide financial support and volunteer hours to the Redford Interfaith Relief organization to help end poverty in the Redford community. VFF is funded by financial contributions from members, grants, sponsorships, public donations, and fundraising activities. MISSION - Vision Fair Foundation (comprised of creative, focused, professional women) is committed to community programs in the Detroit Metropolitan Community that improve negative conditions in the areas of health; economic empowerment; education; and the arts for minority youth, adults and seniors. Our sponsorship of initiatives to achieve these goals is specifically intended to enhance the knowledge and growth of the community we serve. |
